From Bedridden to Gym-Bound
Vaea knows all too well how Fibromyalgia — a disorder characterized by widespread musculoskeletal pain, fatigue, sleep, memory and mood issues — can impact your life. She’d been suffering for years, the pain and exhaustion leaving her depressed and unable to get out of bed most days. Walking was difficult, which meant household chores fell by the wayside and exercise was impossible. To top it all off, Vaea’s blood pressure was sky high. Life was bleak.
Upon discovering that size 3Xs were too small, she realized she had to make a change — and fast.
“I reflected on what I did in the past to be successful and sought out a program that could help me achieve those goals,” she says, explaining that she was referred to Dawn by another coach at the beginning of her journey. “From the very first call, I could tell Dawn was real. She gave me the space I needed and was there to encourage me every step of the way. I took it slow, but always kept moving forward.”
Today, Vaea is not only able to get out of bed, but she is going to the gym four to five days a week. “I must have a glow, because people are always saying how young I look now,” she says. “My fibromyalgia is still around, but I spend very, very few days in bed. I can tie my shoes, walk up stairs, and clean the house now. My blood pressure is leveling out and I’m so much happier — and I appreciate Dawn for helping me do this dance of healing!”
